CJME out of Regina, SK Canada reported today on a government program to give sport fishing a boost. A new partnership between the Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation and the Canadian government will give the province up to $150-thousand per year. The aim of the two-year deal is to is give give funding to various projects that help Canada’s sport fishing.

Darrell Crabbe, of the federation, sited one example that would restore natural spawning grounds. These are spawning grounds that man and not nature have disrupted. Source of the funding would come from Canada’s Fish and Wildlife Development Fund, which in turn gets 30% of their money from things like fishing, hunting, or fur licences.
